Shadow people (also known as shadow men or shadow beings) are a supernatural phenomenon reported by some individuals. Most accounts of shadow people describe them as black humanoid silhouettes, lacking mouths or eyes, although they are sometimes reported to have red or yellow eyes. They are generally described as lacking mass, although their specific nature varies from two-dimensional (like a shadow) to vaporous or distorted.
Step 1
The orginal image was found here and brush smoke found here.
Open your image ( The Grim) In photoshop. Then duplicate ( The Grim) image. We will need that orginal Image to finish off our "Shadow Being"
Step 2
Using the Pen tool cut " The Grim" from its background.
Step 3
Image-Adjustments-Hue/Saturation- See Settings. And Lower the lightness. Below should be your final result.
Step 4
In this step we need to so two things. 1. Removing the legs from the image and 2. Removing the Weedwhacker stick from the grim hands.
To remove the legs you can simply erase the leg or use the pen tool for a more detail cut. Now the weedwhacker removal :). I use the " Eye Dropper" to sample the "Black" of " The Grim" outfit. Then use the brush and brush off the "Weedwhacker".
Step 5
Smudging To smudge I flaten the image " The Grim" image, to do this use the smudge tool - Set brush size to 4 or 5. and strength at 53% at Just remember the size of your brush depends on the size of your image. My image size is 300 by 400px. Smudge upward in a wavy angle to create a smoke like effect
Step 6
Remember that image in step 2 place it under the smudge image thats your step 5 image. Look at the animation to see. Now apply a mask layer on the smudge girm image. Once mask is apply -Change the foreground color to black. and use the brush to reveal "The Grim". Lower the opcity of the brush to about 33%. If you look closly at the second Image you will see the detail show from the orginal image.
Step 7
Working on the face. Use the brush tool, and set the color to #000000. AND paint over face in a new layer. Now create a new layer, ( we will be adding the eyes) Select the white or yellow color and use the brush tool. Set the brush size to 5px. Then go to. Filter-Blur-Gaussian Blur. Set Radius 3.2 px.
Step 8
Ok we are about to finish just adding the smoke effect to the final image. Create a new layer below your final image. And for every smoke create a new layer. Wrap, resize and rotate to fit to your liking. This should be your final image. Any questions please email me.
