Step 1
Ok before we start we need to collect all the necessary image. You will need water water splash for the, head, feet, and hands. And a background image. I reccomend you look for those images that are very clear and have a nice water splash. Also you need to find lots of them. I found all my images on devientArt.com make sure they are stock free.
Step 2
Next you need to delete the man out of that background. Use the Pen Tool for this and draw a path around the guy. Don’t worry about the hair because we don’t need it and the same for the hands and shows.
You should have something like what I have to the left- Instead of the black background you can apply the background you want.
Step 3
It is time to make the water effect. Now select the first water splash image you want. Let start witht the head. Next delete the part of the image you don’t want. The image to the right is my edited image. So only cut and keep the part you want to use
Step 4
Go to the channels of the image and select the channel you consider that has the best contrast between the splash and the background.
Next duplicate this channel, make it visible and make the Blue channel (in my condition) invisible by pressing the eye icon. If you can't find the channel tab- go to windows-Channel
Step 5
Now go to Image - Adjustments - Curves. In this case we have nothing to change for the image but there are a lot of images where the contrast between the water and background is not that visible.
Step 6
Now Ctrl + Click on the channel you just duplicated. This will make a selection around the water splash.
Step 7
Now Ctrl + C and copy the "blue copy" and sure you have that layer selected
Now select the RGB channel by clicking on it’s thumbnail and hide the the bule copy layer.
Step 9
Go to the layers palette. Make a new layer and click Ctrl + v to paste the selection to a new layer. If you did it correctly you should have a transparent water. You can compare the top layer to the bottom to see.
IMPORTANT: you must do this for all the water splash images.
You can use Edit > Transform > Warp to get your splash the way you want it.
Step 10
With hope, I hope you were able to come out with something good. Share your result with me-- MajestiC.clicks@gmail.com. It will appare right below. Thanks
