pen your image in photoshop.

Image one- Photo--- Image two- Photo of dry mud, (note just google "dry mud")

Once the image is open, label the mud layer "MUD" and the photo layer "PHOTO" make sure the "mud" layer in above the photo in the layers windows.
 
Select the Mud layer and instead of "normal" change it to "multiply", you can see your photo change, now, choose the "eraser" on the tool bar and erase eye, nose, eyebrows.

This would erase the crack mud effect over this effect.
